Trip Report: Whitefish

Trip Report: Crested Butte

Whitefish 2018 had forty-six members and guests, lots of snow, a little sunshine, and good times all around. On Thursday, the group made its way to Whitefish Montana by plane, train and automobile. After the overnight Amtrak trek to Whitefish and a short bus ride, the main group hit the slopes by mid-morning on Friday. Snow fell throughout the day, the next day and thereafter. Some of the best skiing conditions offered in the NW were had during this trip. Who says DSC isn’t lucky?  We had an après ski welcome reception with apps and drinks hosted at Ed and Mully’s while we were greeted by resort staff. Friday offered more freshies followed up with a nice DSC hosted dinner put forth by Pat’s staff with exceptional service at the Hellroaring Saloon.

37 brave souls departed for Crested Butte in the wee morning hours on Feb 17th to ski this great resort. The early rise made for good winds to arrive early in Denver. We enjoyed the “eggs bene” at the Pour La France before boarding our next leg to Gunnison for a short ride to the slope-side Grand Lodge. The Grand Lodge bell staff did an excellent job of getting our bags to our rooms and we relaxed before having a “welcome reception”. Everyone got aquainted and then made up for the lost sleep in preparation for the next day’s adventure.

Party like it's the 1980's! Bluewood Bash! The Bash is back!

The Bluewood Annual Spring Happening -- BASH -- will take place on March 24 & 25. This year we're doing an 80s theme, so think neon, big hair and garish garb!
We will have the ever-popular pond skim on Saturday along with a beer garden and live music by The FrogHollow Band. Sunday will bring family-friendly games and activities, such as scavenger hunts, body bowling and duck races.
Both days include raffles, some sweet swag from sponsors, and limited BASH t-shirt giveaways--only 500 total, and it's first come, first served. When they're gone, they're gone!
Save the date. It'll be a fun weekend filled with music, skiing/snowboarding, sun (we hope)... and, of course, good times had by all. Check back for updates.

Which leads me to my last question... will YOU  be pond skimming this year!?
